"Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace but a sword.
For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law,
and a man's enemies will be the members of his household.
"Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
And whoever does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life because of me will find it. (Mat 10:34-39)
Did Jesus come to to bring a sword? Surely He brought us the peace in God, not the peace in the world. As you accept Jesus as your Lord, your whole value system would change: relationships, goals, and priority. Jesus would be the most important person to you, not your family. Jesus’ goal will become your goal of life. For God’s glory, you would want to go through humiliation and loss of your life. This is the person who has met Jesus. Because of this radical change of one’s value system, you would experience conflicts with others, even your family.
