CH 13
1. The time for Jesus to return to the Father has come. (v1) Jesus loved his disciple so much (v1) and worried them in his absence, specially there would be attacks from Satan (v2). How could they keep the church from fierce attacks of the enemy? What was Jesus’ command that will protect the church? (v34-35)
2. When Peter tried to refuse Jesus’ washing his feet, what did Jesus say to him?
3. Why do we need to wash each other’s feet?
4. In the world we live, the one who is served is greater than the server. But in the kingdom of God, the server is greater (Mark 10:43-44), why? (Hint: v16-17)
5. Jesus’ disciples were humans like us. They were not strong. They betrayed, ran away, or denied their Lord. To protect the church, we are given the command of love. We should love such a fragile body of Jesus. In order to love, we might need to sacrifice us. How can we keep loving each other? (v31-32)
CH 14
1. What is the reason that we should not be distressed? (v1)
2. How do we know that the Father is in Jesus? (v10-11)
3. How is it possible for us to do miraculous works of Jesus and even greater works? (v12, v28) (hint: We will do the works of Jesus in the same way that Jesus did the Father’s works when He was on the earth)
4. How do we know that Jesus is in us? (v15, v21, v23)
5. What is the works of the Holy Spirit? (v16-17, v26)?
6. What was the reason that Jesus submitted to the ruler of this world, though Jesus is greater? (which means crucifixion on the cross) (v31)

1. Why are we, who believe in Jesus, clean (righteous)? (v3)
2. When can we bear fruit? (v5)
3. What is to remain in Jesus? (v7)
4. How to remain in Jesus’ love? (v10)
5. Jesus laid down his life for his friends. There are two things that show you are Jesus’ friend. What? (v14, v15)
6. Why does the world hate Christians? (v18, v19, v21)
7. Who testify about Jesus to us? (v26-27)

CH 16
1. Why is it better for us that Jesus returned to the Father? (v7-8, v13)
2. Jesus said that their sadness will turn into joy. What would make them sad and what would make them joyful? (v20-22)
3. If you believe, you can ask God in Jesus’ name because the Father himself loves you. What do you need to believe? (v27-28, v30)
4. How can you have peace among trouble and suffering in the world? (v4, v24, v32-33)
5. What does it mean that Jesus conquered the world?[1]
[1] to be faithful as a messenger/servant sent from God. As you live as faithful witnesses of Jesus, you might be left alone. But remember that you are not alone, Jesus is with you as the Father was with Jesus on the cross, and that you can be faithful to the end.
